Centre Suisse d' Electronique et de Microtechnique

The “Centre Suisse d' Electronique et de Microtechnique”, founded in 1984, is a private applied research and development centre specializing in micro and nanotechnology, systems engineering, microelectronics and communications technologies. More than 450 highly qualified and specialized employees from various scientific and technical disciplines work for CSEM's headquarters in Neuchâtel and the regional centers. With a turnover of about 75M€, CSEM offers its customers and industry partners custom-made, innovative solutions based on its technological expertise derived from applied research. CSEM's mission is to enhance the competitiveness of industry, by developing applied technology platforms and transferring them to the industrial sector. In the past, direct transfer of CSEM technologies has resulted in a number of new products or project for the space, aeronautics, transportation, energy, security, manufacturing, life sciences and telecommunications industries. Furthermore, through the founding of start-ups, CSEM has also been very successful, creating 24 companies over the past 7 years, with a total turnover in excess of 49 M€, and over 500 jobs, thanks to additional venture capital investment of more than 120 M€. The Division Systems got the ISO13485 certification for the design, development and clinical validation of medical devices. The process put in place are used for other field of activities in particular life sciences. Numerous innovative devices have been developed using chemical, optical, MEMS, etc. sensors for cleantech and medtech applications
